99 Nights in the Forest — official Roblox game image

99 Nights in the Forest is Roblox's survival hit: you and your team keep a campfire alive in a haunted forest for 99 nights, while something with antlers watches from the dark. Days are for chopping, building and rescuing; nights are for staying in the light. This guide explains the campfire, the Deer, the missing kids and the class system so your first runs last longer than your first night. Free Diamonds are waiting on our 99 Nights in the Forest codes page — redeem them in the lobby, before a run starts.

How 99 Nights in the Forest works

Your campfire is your life: it is your safe zone, your respawn anchor and the thing the whole run revolves around. Feeding it wood raises its level, which expands the safe area and unlocks more of the map and crafting. Each day, gather wood and scrap, build up the base, and explore further out; each night, return to the fire — the Deer hunts in the dark, hunger drains you, and cultists raid on later nights. Survive all 99 nights to win the run.

Your first run — step by step

Step 1

Day 1 is wood day. Chop trees, feed the campfire to its first levels, and craft the basics (a map and storage) before anything fancy. A bigger fire tonight is worth more than any exploration today.

Step 2

Eat properly. Cook raw food at the fire — cooked food restores far more hunger, and hunger is a timer on everything you do.

Step 3

Build the base essentials: beds (they speed the night count), shelves and storage, then defensive walls as raids approach.

Step 4

Rescue the missing kids (next section) as soon as your gear allows — each rescued kid speeds up your nights and helps the camp.

Step 5

At night: stay in the firelight. If the Deer comes, your flashlight is your defence — shine it to drive the Deer off, and never wander in the dark without one.

The missing kids

Four kids are lost in the forest, each guarded in a cave or clearing further from camp than the last. Rescuing one brings them back to your camp, where they help — and beds plus rescued kids make the night counter advance faster, shortening the road to 99. The rescues are the game's main mid-run goals: gear up (better axe, spear or rifle, armour, plenty of cooked food and bandages), go in daylight, and clear the guards carefully. Later kids sit in genuinely dangerous territory; treat each rescue as an expedition, not an errand.

Classes and Diamonds

Classes, bought with Diamonds in the lobby, reshape your run: each gives starting items and passive perks — lumberjack-style classes chop faster, cooks feed the team better, medics revive and heal, fighters handle cultists. Diamonds come from codes, badges and surviving, and they are account-wide, so a class bought once helps every future run. New players get the most from an economy class that makes the camp richer; combat classes shine once your basics are automatic.

6 tips to survive longer

1. The fire is the schedule. Every plan bends around it: be home before dark, every single night, until you are geared enough to argue.

2. Upgrade the axe early. Wood is the game's bloodstream — the campfire, crafting and building all drink it. A better axe speeds up everything.

3. Flashlight always. It is your only reliable Deer defence at night. Keep it charged and keep it on you.

4. Pelt trading is free gear. The Pelt Trader exchanges animal pelts for increasingly good items. Hunt rabbits and wolves on gathering trips and trade up.

5. Prepare for raid nights. Cultist raids escalate. Walls, traps and a team that regroups at the fire beat heroes caught alone in the trees.

6. Revive teammates. Bandages and a living team are worth more than any loot run. A solo survivor in a team game is just a slower defeat.

99 Nights in the Forest — FAQ

How do I survive the Deer in 99 Nights in the Forest?

Stay in the campfire's light at night — the Deer cannot stand the fire. If you are caught out, shine your flashlight at the Deer to drive it back, and get to light quickly. The Deer also cannot be killed; do not waste resources trying.

Why can't I redeem codes in 99 Nights in the Forest?

Codes only redeem from the matchmaking lobby, before a run starts. If you are already in the forest, the code menu will not work — finish or leave the run, then redeem in the lobby. Codes mainly give Diamonds and Flames.

What do beds do in 99 Nights in the Forest?

Beds make the night counter advance faster — each bed (and each rescued kid) shortens the grind toward night 99. Building beds early is one of the strongest pacing moves in the game.

What is the best class for beginners?

An economy or support class that strengthens the whole camp — faster chopping, better cooking or healing — helps a new player (and their team) more than a pure combat class. Spend Diamonds on one good class before spreading them thin.
